Mrs. Lucy Bliss Oldest Resident of Orange, Dead
She Was 86 and Had Lived 65 Years on Same Farm; Buried Thursday

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Lucy A. Bliss, 86 years
old, whose death Tuesday afternoon at her Orange township home marked the
passing of Orange township’s oldest resident.  Mrs. Bliss had lived on the same
farm for 65 years.

The services were held at the home.  Rev. Alfred Trenerry officiated.  Burial
was in the family lot in Balcom cemetery.

Mrs. Bliss leaves three daughters, four sons, nine grand children and ten great
grandchildren.  Her daughters are Mrs. Sylvana McCoy, who lived with her mother,
Mrs. Eldridge, of Sheridan, and Mrs. Fern Bliss, of Ionia.  The sons are Walter
Bliss, of Sheridan, Millard Bliss, of Orange township, and Joe Bliss, of
Sunfield, and Lee Bliss of Berlin.
