Ionia Shoppers Guide - July 23, 2011


Scotty Joe Block, 46, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 11, 2011. Scott 
was formerly married to Cindy Block (Ferris) of Lyons. He served in the Army 
from 1981 to 1983. Scott is survived by seven children: Timothy Block of Ionia, 
Jessica O’Donnell of Owosso, Amanda Block of Ionia, Christopher and Hailey 
Fallon, and Joseph and Logan Block of Port St. Lucie, Florida; grandson Gavin 
Lake of Ionia; brothers Les and Lee Fisher, Dana and Neva Warner, Randy 
Kirschmeir, Mark and Melinda Block, Ricki and Brian Block, and Jeff and Wendy 
Vansipe; sisters Carla and Bob Richards, Dawn and Steve Harmen, Shelli and Greg 
Wilcox, Bobbie Hyatt, Jodie Watt, Amber and Alexis Block, and Laure Vansipe; 
and many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, and aunts. Scott was preceded in 
death by his parents Georgia Hyatt and Richard Block, and brother Larry Fisher. 
At his request cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held 
Tuesday, July 26th from 2 to 4 pm at Crossroads Church, 455 East Main Street, 
Ionia.
