Ionia Sentinel Standard - June 28, 2011


James E. Blohm, 92, of Ionia passed away June 26, 2011 in Ionia. He was born 
July 14, 1919 in Detroit, the son of Edward and Myrtle Blohm. James married 
Ruby Cox Nov. 2, 1943 in Arizona. She preceded him in death in 1998. Her served 
in the Marine Corps during World War II as a Master Sergeant and was a member 
of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ionia.

James is survived by his step children, Betty (Don) Sorgenfrei, several step 
grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step son Hubert a. Poole; and his 
sister, Mildred.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church 
in Ionia with Pastor Bogda officiating. Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m. 
Tuesday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
