Bloomfield, 64, of route 1, Ionia, died Tuesday at Veterans hospital, Ann Arbor. He had been a patient there several times during the past year and a half. He was born April 29, 1896 at Cedar Springs the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bloomfield. He was a veteran of World War I having entered service September 18, 1917 and was discharged May 22, 1919. In December of 1951 he was married in Ionia to Goldie Brown. Organizations he held membership in included the American Legion and Loyal Order of Moose. Besides his wife, Goldie, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bloomfield and a brother, Gerald of Cedar Springs, six sons and daughters, Mrs. Marge Durfee of Detroit, Don Bloomfield of Midland, Mrs. Betty Grandstrom of Detroit, Mrs. Della Grandstrom of Grand Rapids, Ronald Bloomfield, address unknown, and Mary of Norfolk, Va.; step-children, Harold L. Brown of Ionia, Mrs. Betty J. Dickinson of Palo, Mrs. Pearlene M. Woodbury of Muir; Mrs. Caroline J. Nagy of Palo and Mrs. Freda F. Brown of Ionia, and 15 grandchildren. Funeral service will be Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from Walshe’s funeral home in Cedar Springs. Interment will be at Solom cemetery in Cedar Springs.
