Jan. 8, 2013 Geneiva B. Bloomquist, 89, of Fenwick, passed away on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at her home. She was born on Dec. 31, 1923 near Palo, the daughter of Amasa and Maude (Davis) Hancock. On Oct. 9, 1965, Geneiva was married to Carl K. Bloomquist and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2008. Also preceding her were two sisters, Maggie Strecker and Lilah Cardinal; and two brothers, Clifford and Charles Hancock. Surviving is one daughter, Nancy and Dave McClintock of Fenwick; four sons, Clifford and Marilyn Harter of Jackson, Donald and Mary Harter of Weidman, Ronald and Julie Harter of Crystal, and Phillip and Jeanette Harter of Walker; two step-daughters, Larena Mason and Pete Rzadca, and Ralynn and Craig Hansen, all of Greenville; one step-son, Reginald and Glenda Bloomquist of St. Louis; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one sister, Freida Gallagher of Hubbardston; one brother, Jim and Rozella Hancock of Sheridan; one brother-in- law, Ernie Strecker of Belding; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bloomquist has been a longtime resident of the Fenwick area and was retired from the Chrysler Trim Plant in Lyons. Funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment will be at the Palo Cemetery. Visitation with the family will also be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday morning. The family has suggested for those desiring to do so, that memorial considerations can be made to the Sparrow Hospice. There will be envelopes available at the funerl home.
