The Lake Odessa Wave, Thursday, October 18, 1928
Lucy Almeada Parker was born in Canada October 13, 1873 and departrf this life 
October 9, 1928 at her home in Lake Odessa, aged 54 years, 11 months, 26 
days.  She came with her parents to Michigan at the age of two years, locating 
near Lake Odessa near which place she has spent the greater part of her life.  
October 23, 1890 she was united in marriage with Melvin Blossom, to which 
union were born four children; Mrs. Earl Pettengill of Perry, Michigan; Mrs. 
Ed Layman of Ann Arbor; Mrs. Fred Philo of Detroit; one child dying in infancy.

She was converted early in life and on moving to Lake Odessa united with the 
United Brethren church to which she has been a faithful member.  Through all 
the months of suffering she was patient and submissive, and her faith 
unwavering.  She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, three daughters, 
one brother, John Parker of Lansing, and four grandchildren.  She will be 
greatly missed in the home, the church and community.

Funeral services were held at the Calvary U. B. church, Friday, October 12; 
Rev. M. F. Earl of Charlotte, officiating, assisted by Rev. M. H. Dawson.  
Singing by Mrs. M. F. Early.  Burial at Lake Side.

We wish to express our sincere thanks to the friends and neighbors who so 
kindly assisted us during the sickness and death of our beloved wife and 
mother; and especially do we thank Rev. Early and Rev. Dawson for the 
comforting words; also Mr. and Mrs. Clare Goodsell and all those who 
contributed flowers.
