Blow, 82, of Saranac passed away Dec. 30, 2011. He was born March 22, 1929 in Easton Twp., the son of Adelbert and Florence (Parks) Blow. Gerald graduated from Saranac High School in 1949. He would marry Helen Clark Sept. 5, 1959 in Saranac. Gerald farmed all his life, and was involved in 4-H. He worked for Universal Products in Saranac until it closed in 1985 and would later work for the Ionia Free Fair as a Superintendent of Grounds. He was the best of the best when it came to working with people and getting the job done. He was a very hard worker, he had the strong hands to prove it with the grip of a handshake. He had a smile for everyone. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Helen Blow of Saranac; his children, Rose (Mark) Zeigler of Saranac and Ross (Tonya) Blow of Saranac; and two grandchildren, Derek Blow of Kentwood and Jordan Blow of Allendale. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Kody, and one brother and one sister. Funeral Services for Gerald will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Interment Saranac Cemetery. Visitation will be on 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Ionia Area Hospice, Ionia Commission on Aging or Alzheimer’s Foundation.
