At the age of 20, she came to America, and in November, 1858, was married to Frederick Bluemly, at Evansville, Indiana. In 1865 they came to Easton township, and settled on a farm one mile north of Stanton Junction, where the rest of their life was spent. Death entered the home on the 25th of January, 1888, and claimed the husband and father. Mrs. Bluemly survived her husband a little over 12 years, and then death claimed her, on July 5th, 1901, at the age of 63 years, 5 mos. and 4 days, valvular and dropsy of the heart being the cause of death. To this union were born eleven children seven daughters and four sons, all of whom survive their mother. Sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild also mourn her death, which is their eternal gain. The funeral services were held at the Dildine M. E. church, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, Rev. W. H. B. Urch of Ionia officiating, and Rev. Buell of Orleans, assisting. Mrs. Bluemly united with the church in 1878, and lived a consistent consecrated, Christian life unto death. Her consistent life was the means of drawing her children into the church. She always lived to live and do for others that they might be happy. She has gone to receive her reward. Mother, thou art gone, To the land of rest; Where there is no sorrow, Sickness, fear nor death. We shall miss thee greatly, In this world of toil. But we hope to meet you In the realms above. The eleven children who survive her are: Caroline (Mrs. Joseph Meier) Fenwick; Mary (Mrs. Daniel Olmstead) Ludington; Minnie (Mrs. J. A. Swenk) Ft. Wayne, Ind; Sophia (Mrs. Arthur Callow) Ionia; Emma (Mrs. J. C. Deitrich) Gresham, Mich; Eugene F. Bluemly, St. Louis, Mo., Frederick Bluemly, Easton; Herman Bluemly, Easton; Elzora Bluemly, Easton; Paulina (Mrs. Peter Christensen) Easton; Alvin Bluemly, Grand Ledge, Mich. Two were absent from the funeral, Mrs. Olmstead, who is sick at the hospital at Ann Arbor, Mich., and Eugene F., who lives in St. Louis, Mo.
