In 1861 she was united in marriage to Carl Blume, in Madgeburg, Germany. About the year 1870 she, with her husband and three children, immigrated to America, landing in New York and making that city their home for about six years, when they moved to Saginaw, Mich. For the past 15 years she has resided in Ionia. Her husband died June 9, 1912. Mrs. Blume had been in failing health for more than a year and, on Tuesday afternoon, June 16, at 3:30 o’clock, she peacefully breathed her last in the presence of four of her children, aged 74 years, 6 months and 5 days. She was the mother of seven children, six of whom survive her, namely, Charles, Otto, Rachel, William, May, Frank. One daughter, Emma, died in her 14th year. Frank living in California, is the only one of the children unable to attend the funeral. Many beautiful floral tributes lay upon the casket. Funeral services were held in the late home, 424 West Main street, by Rev. C.W. Lyman at 2 p.m.; interment in Highland Park.
