She was born on Aug. 15, 1922 in McBride, the daughter of John and Mary (Hockstra) Slock. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church as the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Blundy enjoyed crocheting and cross stitch and loved to have Easter egg hunts for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman in 1979, her parents; and brothers, Leo and Martin Slock. Surviving are daughter, Joyce (Dale) Kloeckner of Grand Ledge; son, Gary Blundy of Portland; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Viola Thelen of Portland, June (Don) Hoffman of Sheridan, Donna Slock of Stanton and Vera Hoover of Ionia; and brother-in-law, Paul Bishop of Grand Ledge. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Rev. Charles D. Hall, pastor, at 11 a.m., Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Rite of Committal following in Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday with a Rosary being prayed at 3 p.m. and a Scriptural Wake service at 8 p.m. at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 1301 E. Grand River Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the Fr. Flohe Foundation in memory of Mary Louise Blundy.
