Maxine Irene Blundy, age 85, loving mother and grandmother passed away on 
Wednesday, April 22, 2009. She was born on March 21, 1924 in Grand Rapids the 
daughter of Carlton and Francis (Jenkins) Kibbey. 

Mrs. Blundy devoted her life to raising her family and loved baking cakes, 
especially for her children's weddings. More recently she enjoyed the 
activities at Heartland Healthcare Center in Ionia, including playing bingo, 
was awarded the resident of the month there and was the 2008 Heartland Fair 
Queen. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Donald Blundy; 
brother and sister. Surviving are her children, Sharon (Larry) Roback of 
Gaylord, Tony (Carol) Blundy of Ada, Sue (David) Sillman of Big Rapids, Terry 
(Debbie) Blundy of Lake Odessa, and Gail (Wes) McVay of Ionia; 10 
grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Bandfield-Bender of 
Middleville; sisters-in-law, Mary Wisniewski of Grand Rapids and Rita Blundy 
of Portland; several nieces and nephews. 

The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the 
Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland with the Rev. 
Larry King, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The 
family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday. For 
those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Healthcare 
Center - Activities Fund, in memory of Maxine Irene Blundy.
