Ionia County News, 29 Apr 1926

Alanson G. Bly, 72, Portland resident, died at the university of Michigan 
hospital last week and his body was interred following the funeral last Friday 
afternoon, with the Odd Fellows, of which he was a brother, in charge.  He was 
born at Eire, Pa., and came to Michigan when a young man, living for a number of 
years near Lansing.  About 30 years ago he moved to Portland, where he had 
resided since.  He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. May Hagerman, Lansing, and 
Mrs. Magaret Paget, Portland; one brother, Frank Bly, Louisiana; one sister Mrs. 
Grace Lamphier, Grand Rapids; one stepson, Clark VanOrsdale, of Lansing.
