Mrs. A. G. Bly Passed Away at Riverside Early Wednesday Morning. Mrs. George Bly died at Riverside hospital early Wednesday morning, where an operation had been performed Monday afternoon. Following this she seemed to be conscious by spells, but never entirely rallied. The remains were taken to Bandfield’s undertaking establishment and later in the day to her own home, on the west side. She was a sister of George Snyder, Mrs. Josephine Lampman, Mrs. Henry Ingraham and Mrs. Harrison Waring, all of Portland. Sarah C. Snyder was born in Sebewa township Dec 7, 1860 and except for a few years spent in Lansing and in the South she had been a continuous resident of this vicinity. Her first husband was Wm. VanOrsdale. One son was born to this union – Claud, of Lansing. Three years after the death of her first husband the widow married George Bly. They lived at Lansing for some time and then returned to Portland. The had one daughter, Mrs. Jos. Paget, who lives in Detroit, but who came to Portland before her mother’s death. The son and daughter-in-law came from Lansing Wednesday. Mrs. Bly’s is the first death that has occurred at the hospital, despite the fact that numerous severe cases have been handled there.
