Boardman, 80, will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Leddick funeral home, Rev. Gilbert Kohler will officiate and interment will be at Saranac cemetery. Mrs. Boardman, a long time resident of 610 Townsend, died Thursday morning at Ionia Manor where she had resided three years. Born in Berlin township July 27, 1891, she was the daughter of Freeman and Polly Lipscomb Haskins. She attended Saranac school and graduated from Saranac high school. She was also a graduate of Ionia County Normal and taught the Eddy school three years. May 6, 1915, she was married to Fred Boardman and they made their home in Ionia. She worked as bookkeeper with her husband at Boardman Plumbing and Heating. He died November 13, 1938, after which she worked as bookkeeper at Johnson’s market and Fred’s market. She was a member of First Baptist church, its CCW class and Ruth Mission circle. She also belonged to the Beatrice Rebekah lodge and its Past Noble Grand club. Surviving is a brother, Grover Haskins of Grand Rapids. A memorial has been established for First Baptist church.
