Bogert, 85, son of Richard and Rhue Ann Decker Bogert, was born in Montcalm County, August 27, 1868 and died at his home in Pal, Oct. 5, 1953. His parents, Montcalm County pioneers, settled in Bloomer township in 1852, and the son, Emory., had always lived in that vicinity. July 22, 1902, he was married to Eva Henemyer and they celebrated their golden wedding in July 1952. He is survived by his wife, Eva, Palp; a brother, Richard Bogert, Lyons, a niece, Mrs. John Sherwood, Howell; a nephew, Foster Bogert, Grand Rapids; step nephews, Alfred Decker and Andrew Decker of the state of Washington and Frank Decker of Carson City. Rev. Lewis Herrick officiated at the funeral service held from Stebbins Funeral Home, Sheridan, Thursday, Oct. 8 and burial was in Palo Cemetery. Bearers were Ellis Bignell, William Kendall, George Tasker, Pearl Hall, Roy Dietrick and Louis Fitzgerald.
