She was seen in the yard at her home about 1 p.m. and at 2 o’clock was found dead on the floor of her kitchen by a neighbor, Mrs. W. Walter Atherton. Mrs. Bogert was born August 18, 1884 in Bloomer township, Montcalm County, daughter of Henry and Mary Halsted, and attended rural schools. With her family she moved to a farm near Pewamo about 67 years ago and later moved to a farm on Wager road near Lyons. In 1902 she was married to Richard C. Bogert of near Palo and lived in Lyons following their marriage. They lived 60 years at the same residence. Mr. Bogert died in 1954. Mrs. Bogert was a member of First Baptist church and was the oldest active member of the church. She did practical nursing until retiring due to ill health. Surviving are a son, Foster Bogert and a grandson, Major Bogert of Grand Rapids; three brothers, Walter Halsted of North Plains township, Clinton of Lyons, and Ford of Ionia, now in Florida. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lyons Baptist church with the Rev. Keith Binkley officiating and interment at Lyons cemetery. The body will be at Shaw-Rivett funeral home until Wednesday noon. Subsequent Publication- Friday, February 7, 1964 Funeral services were Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lyons Baptist church for Mrs. Lottie Bogert, who died suddenly at her home in Lyons, Saturday. Rev. Keith Binkley, pastor of the church officiated. Mrs. Lawrence Albright was the organist and accompanist for Terrence Wakefield, Soloist. Bearers were Robert Daft, Edwin Kemp, Maynard Conklin, Clifford Halsted, Donald Halsted, and Richard Halsted. Interment was in Lyons cemetery.
