She had been in poor health for several years. She was born in Cleveland, O., April 17, 1866 the daughter of Mathew and Elizabeth Gooby. She moved with her parents when she was five to North Plains township. She lived in the area of Bloomer township all her life. She married Orson Bogert in 1891. He died in the fall of 1944. Mrs. Bogert was a member of the Palo M. E. church and of the Palo Rebekahs. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Lahman, and a son, Ney Bogert, all of Bloomer township, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Palo M. E. church. The Rev. Lewis Herrick will officiate and interment will be in Palo cemetery. The body will be at the Boynton funeral home in Ionia until Wednesday noon when it will be removed to the church. ---- Services for Mrs. Emma Bogert, 84, of Bloomer township were conducted by the Rev. Lewis Herrick Wednesday afternoon at the Palo M. E. church. Mrs. Carl Wingeier and Mrs. Esther McKimble gave musical numbers accompanied by Mrs. Lewis Herrick on the piano. Bearers were Richard Bussel, Richard Lehman, George Ingersoll, Bud Decker, Dale Mier and Orson Bogert. Interment was in Palo cemetery. Mrs. Bogert, who died at the Ionia County Memorial hospital Monday, was survived by a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Lehman, of Bloomer township; one son, Ney Bogert, of Bloomer township; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Harriet McMillan of Ionia and Mrs. Kazik Mull of Arcadia; and one brother, Matthew Bogert, of Ionia.
