The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, February 24, 1978

Jennie B. Bolcom, 85, formerly of South State road in Ionia, died early Friday 
morning at Grand Rapids Osteopathic hospital.  Mrs. Bolcom had been a resident 
of Belding Christian Nursing Home for the past five years.

Born in Mancelona, Michigan, March 17, 1892, she lived most of her life in the 
Ionia area.  She had worked at the AC Sparkplug division of General Motors in 
Ionia during World War II.  

Her husband, Clarence Bolcom, preceded her in death in 1965.  Two sons also 
preceded her in death; Alfred Hamblin in 1952, and Henry Hamblin in 1976.  
Survivors include seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one sister, 
Marguerite Nelson of Ionia.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ionia and was a former 
member of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Leddick 
Funeral Home, Rev. Carl Hausermann of First United Methodist Church 
officiating.  Committal services will be at the funeral home with later 
interment in Balcom cemetery.  Family members will be at the funeral home, 
Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
