The deceased was born in Ionia and a young man whose early demise is mourned by many Ionia friends. Funeral Monday morning in Grand Rapids. Subsequent Publications: Tuesday, October 5, 1909 The funeral for James Bolen whose death occurred Friday at Grand Rapids was held in that city Sunday. The services were held in the morning at the Cathedral where solemn requiem mass was celebrated by Fr. Gallagher of that church. Burial was in the new Catholic cemetery on the west side. The pallbearers were all from Grand Rapids and were the young friends of the deceased. Among those from away who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Bartley Kennedy, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Kennedy, Miss Kate Bolen, Mrs. Michael Bolen, Mrs. John Ikner, Mr. and Mrs. Richard O’Neil, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Frost, Miss Celia Kennedy, Joe Kennedy, of Ionia, Mrs. Humphrey of Battle Creek, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kennedy and Michael Kennedy of Alpena, James Bolen of Tawas, and Mr. and Mrs. Haufer of Owosso.
