Ionia - Rose M. Bollinger, 88, of Ionia, died on Friday at home.  She was born
the daughter of Nicholas and Julia O’Connell Roach on April 7, 1903, in
Hubbardston.

She was graduated from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church High School,
Hubbardston, and Western Michigan University.  She earned her degree in
Secondary Education.  She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church,
Ionia, since 1947; Michigan Retired Teachers Association; Rosary Circle of SS.
Peter & Paul, and Walter T. Roach American Legion Post No. 182 in Hubbardston. 
She was a teacher for the Saranac Community School District.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce of Lake Fenton and Bud of Ionia; six
grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her
husband Walter in 1949; three brothers, Nicholas, Bill, and Erwin; two sisters,
Winifred Cunningham and Margaret Truhn.

Funeral mass will be held at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday at 11
a.m., with the Rev. Charles Hall officiating.  Organist will be Renate Conrad. 
Burial will be in the Hubbardston Cemetery with graveside services at 2 p.m.,
with the Rev. Reitz of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Hubbardston.  The
family will be at the Cook Funeral Home on Monday form 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 8
p.m.  Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Monday.  Pallbearers will be Paul Bollinger,
Mark Bollinger, Steve Bollinger, Kevin Huhn, Robert Huhn, and Steve Walter. 
Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Hole and Dick Truhn.  A memorial has been
established for the SS. Peter & Paul’s Education Fund, in care of the funeral
home.
