Mr. Bolter was born in Vermont and raised in South Boston, Ionia Co. He married Miss Eva Morse, daughter of Mr. Chas. Morse, of this place, in 1872. He had been suffering for months with consumption. He was a man greatly beloved by those who knew him best; an effectionate husband and kind father. The week before his death he experienced religion and gave a clear evidence of the genuineness of his conversion. The early instruction of Christian parents came as a light and help in the hours of his greatest need. His funeral was held in the Congregational Church of this village, Mar. 13, a large congregation being present. His remains were taken to South Boston and laid beside his mother and two sisters. He leaves a wife and one daughter.
