Brink Peter Bolthouse, aged 90, of Clarksville, went to be with the Lord on 
March 18, 2009. Brink was born in Cascade Twp., MI on October 19, 1918 to 
William and Carrie (Brink) Bolthouse. 

He graduated from Grant High School in 1937, and was united in marriage to 
Doris Mattson on June 8, 1940 in Kent City, MI. Brink and Doris moved to the 
Clarksville area in 1940, where he operated an onion and carrot farm until he 
semi-retired in the 1980's. Brink enjoyed building much of his farm machinery 
and doing carpentry work. Brink and Doris enjoyed traveling with their Avion 
trailer, especially to Florida where they spent the winter. 

He is survived by Doris, his loving wife of 68 years; daughter, Luella (Bob) 
Pike of Belding, son, Leroy Bolthouse of Guadalajara, Mexico; and daughter, 
Laret Bolthouse of Naples, FL; grandsons, Schuyler Pike, Desmond (Pam) Pike, 
Quentin (Valerie) Pike, and Delbert (Amy) Pike; granddaughter, Brink Elsbeth 
Oviedo; 11 great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Ann 
Bolthouse, Ivah Mattson, Lillian Mattson, and Herbert and Bonnie Mattson. 
Brink was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, William H. and 
Helen Bolthouse, and brother, Gerald E. Bolthouse.

Visitation will be held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa on Sunday, 
March 22 from 2-5 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on 
Monday, March 23 at the West Berlin Wesleyan Church (5110 Portland Road, Lake 
Odessa). Burial will be in Clarksville Cemetery. The family has suggested that 
memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer Center of West Berlin 
Wesleyan Church.
