Ionia Sentinel Standard, 8 Jan 1931

William R. Boltz died at the farm home in Ionia township January 7 of an illness
that had lasted over a year.  Critically sick as he has been the past few weeks
he seemed somewhat improved the last of the week, the condition which proved
fatal coming on during the past 48 hours.  The funeral services will be
conducted by Rev. W.F. Boettcher at the residence Saturday at 2 o’clock.  The
interment will be made in Highland Park cemetery.

Mr. Boltz was born in Butler county, Pa., January 23, 1871.  He came to Michigan
with his parents at an early age and had always remained at home, managing the
farm on which he died since the death of his father 25 years ago.  He was a
member of the Modern Woodman.

Besides his aged mother, Mrs. Mary Boltz, he is survived by three brothers and
three sisters.  John and Archie of Ionia, Fred of Orleans; Mrs. Mary Smith and
Mrs. Sadie Haynes, of Ionia and Mrs. Emma Strachan of Muir.
