Bond, a former resident of this community, were brought here for burial last Monday. The news reached us too late for last week’s issue, a fact we regret very much as the deceased was well known by a host of friends here and in Grattan township where she made her home for many years. Mrs. Addie Haney Bond was born in this city December 11, 1867. She received her education in the local schools, graduating with the class of 1885, and afterwards taught here. In May, 1895 she was married to Clarence E. Bond and was mother of two children, Marion, who died in infancy and Hubert, who with the husband, survives. The Bond family resided on the David Wilson farm near the Cooley school for several years, then moved to the farm near Carson City in 1909 where she passed away Saturday, March 16th. Mrs. Bond had been in poor health due to diabetes for the past 11 years, but her illness was of only four days duration. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church in Carson City Monday, March 18th, where the deceased had been a faithful member, having first become interested in the Christian life when a young woman and was at the time affiliated with the local M.E. church. The bereaved family has the sympathy of this community who unite with those in Carson City in mourning the loss of a devout Christian woman, a splendid wife and mother and a true friend. Besides those of her immediate family circle, she is survived by a brother, Milo Haney, of Brink, and five sisters, Mrs. Jane Bull of Richmond, Virginia, Mrs. Elizabeth Spears of Ithaca, Mrs. Sperry Hoffman of Detroit, Mrs. Elmer White of Ypsilanti and Mrs. John S. Black of Birmingham; also four grandchildren.
