Death of Mrs. Bond.

The sad death of Mary Bond, wife of John Bond occurred Wednesday morning at five
o’clock at their home in this city.  Mrs. Bond gave birth to a fine baby girl
last Friday night and appeared to be getting along nicely until Sunday when she
began gradually to grow worse in spite of the combined efforts of Drs. Stanton,
Pinkham and Morgan.  Mrs. Bond was formerly Mary Haney, well known in this city
and born in this township, half a mile south of the city limits.  About three
years ago she was married to Mr. Bond and besides him leaves a daughter two
years old and the baby.

She was a member of the M.E. church having become converted and joined under the
preaching of Rev. C.A. Varnum.  The funeral will be held Friday at the M.E.
church at 2:30 p.m., Rev. C.A. Varnum of Leslie officiating.  Much sympathy is
expressed for Mr. Bond in his deep affliction made extremely sorrowful in the
thought that his beloved companion died, in giving life to another life.

The funeral services of Mrs. Bond which were held at the M.E. church Friday
afternoon were attended by a very large number of people and a profusion of
beautiful flowers covered the casket.
