Bond. Sr., who died Oct. 21st at his residence two miles southeast of Belding. The funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 o’clock from the M. E. church of this city under the auspices of the A.O.U.W. of which order deceased had been a member, the pastor Rev. A. O. Carman officiating and the burial took place in Riverside cemetery. Mr. Bond was born in Rochester, N. Y., Sept. 10, 1841, and came with his parents to Ionia Co., Michigan, in Nov. 1845 where he resided until death claimed him. He was one of the sturdy pioneers of the county and always followed his vocation as farmer. He was a man of sterling qualities, energetic and progressive. He patiently endured a long sickness, never giving up hope, but death came, he met it as he always met difficulties in life, with true fortitude. He leaves a wife, two sons, Clarence E. and John R. both of this city, a brother Wm. Of Entrican, Montcalm Co., and a sister Mary L. Hosburg of Mecosta Co., with a large circle of friends to mourn his departure.
