Portland Observer, 18 Nov 1937

William J. Bonker, 73, passed away at his home south of Portland, in Danby 
township Friday evening.  Funeral services were held Sunday with the Rev. John 
H. Stewart officiating and burial made in the Portland cemetery.

Mr. Bonker had resided on the farm where his death occurred for the past 25 
years, and was well known in this vicinity.  He had not been well for some time 
before his death.

He is survived by the widow, Maude Lowry Bonker, a son Alyn, by a previous 
marriage, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Sutherland, of Detroit.
