She was born, the daughter of August and Minnie Dean Schimansky, October 16, 1919, in Pennsylvania. She received her high school diploma from the Adult Education Class in 1973. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ionia, a life member of the Eastern Star, Queen Esther Chapter No. 35, a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 41, a member of the Blue Star Mothers, a member of the Ionia Historical Society, a member of the Senior Citizens Group. She married Lloyd Bonn on August 22, 1936, in Union Town, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1987. She is survived by four daughters, Bonnie Jackson of Saranac, Sandra of Grand Rapids, Marjorie Stafford of Flint, and Jacqueline of Kalamazoo; one son Garner of Portland; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; one sister Evalyn Bryson of Maryland. She was preceded in death by her great granddaughter Ranae. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Ionia, with the Rev. James Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Alan Bonn, Dale Bonn, Gary Bonn, Christopher Jackson, Daryl Jackson, and Gerald Young. The organist will be Dorothy Horrocks. The family will be at the Cook Funeral Home, Ionia, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. An Eastern Star Service will be held at the funeral home Friday at 8 p.m. A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.
