June 5, 1969 Viola E. Boomer Passed Away Mrs. Viola E. Boomer, 60, of 1110 Jordan Lake St., Lake Odessa, died early Sunday morning, June 1, at the Ferguson-Droste-hospital, Grand Rapids, where she had been a patient for one month. Mrs.Boomer has been in ill health for the past several years. Born in Zeeland, May 1 1909, she was adopted, as a baby, by Benjamin and Jennie (Arensen) Sterkin of Byron Center, attended Byron Center schools, and married Guy Boomer of Manchester, Mich. They lived in Manchester until 1934 when they moved to Tecumseh where Mr. Boomer entered the ministery of the Full Gospel church. They served churches in Tecumseh, Adrian , and Hastings areas until 1958 when they moved to Lake Odessa to serve the Trinity Gospel Church. She was a member of Trinity Gospel church, Lake Odessa. Mrs. Boomer is survived by her husband, Guy; one son, Norman of Nashville; five grandchildren; and three brothers, Raymond and Daryl Sterkin, both of Byron Center and Russell Sterkin of Grand Rapids. Funeral services were held at 1:30 on Wed. June 4, from the Leonard-Osgood funeral home with the Rev. Dr. William Spencer of Toledo, Ohio, officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Hastings.
