Eugene Page Borden, 72, of route 1, Borden road, Muir, died at his home
Wednesday evening following an extended illness.  Born in North Plains township
May 28, 1902, he was the son of Stephen Page Borden and Bertha Miller Borden. 
He was a graduate of the Palo high school and attended the Ferris Institute at
Big Rapids.

He was married to Dorotha Eavey and later married Dorothy Loveless in 1931 and
she died in 1955.  He then married Bessie Woodman in 1956 and she survives.  He
spent most of his life farming and also worked at the Mitchell Bentley
Corporation in Ionia.

Survivors besides the wife, Bessie, include a son, Robert Page Borden of route
1, Muir; two daughters, Mrs. Marion Gibbs of Belding and Mrs. Shirley Eliason of
Newton Falls, Ohio.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir.
 Rev. John Gurney of the Palo United Methodist church will officiate and
interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Ionia.
