Wave, Thurs. Jan. 18, 1979 BATTLE CREEK- Rodney Bordner, 35, of 158 Hazel St., Battle Creek, died Friday evening. He was born in Lansing August 22, 1943, the son of Lyle and Faye (Eding) Bordner. He attended schools in Lansing and Holt. On November 5, 1976 in Engadine, he married Corrie Brown. Bordner served in the U.S. Army for three years, was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Woodland and was employed by Vanden Heede Well Drilling Repair. Survivors include his wife Carrie; one son, Jeffery (Bordner) Gooder of lansing, mother and step-father, Paul and Faye Bordner of Woodland; three step-sons, Jack Brown of Wayne; Joe Brown of Detroit; James Brown with the US Marines; one step- daughter Mrs. Jane Grudenich of Wayne; two step-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Terry Bordner; three half-sisters, Mrs. Darlene Everett of Woodland; Mrs. Robert (Connie) May of Freeport; Mrs. Keith (Vicki) Thelen of Lansing. His father, Lyle W. Bordner preceded him in death in 1969. Funeral services were Tuesday at 1:30 pm at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. Rev. Brent Zumbrum officiated. Burial was in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Holt.
