He had been ill for many months, and a patient at the hospital for two weeks. He was born October 19, 1923, in Mecosta County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boroff, and came to Ionia with his parents when he was five years old. He served in World War II in the Signal Corps of the 565th Headquarters Co. and saw combat duty in New Guinea and Luzon. He had been employed by the Ionia County Road Commission for about ten years. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, two sons, Bruce and Keith and a daughter, Ila; his father, Charles Boroff Ionia; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Oakley of Ionia, and Mrs. Emily Bair of Flint. Rev. W. W. Pixley of the First Baptist Church will officiate at the funeral service which will be from Boynton Funeral Home at two o'clock Friday afternoon, March 9. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery.
