                            THOMAS J. BORTON JR.

IONIA - Thomas J. Borton Jr., 51, a 25 years Ionia resident, died Monday 
afternoon.

He was born May 27,1928 in Portland, the son of Mrs.Thomas Borton Sr.

Mr.Borton was formerly employed by Nelson's Orchard and Caswell's. Prior to that 
he worked as an elephant trainer with the Barnum and Baily Circus.

He was an Army veteran.

Survivors include his father Thomas Borton Sr. of Half Moon Lake; his mother, 
Nina Tucker of Ionia; two half-brothers, Albert Chase of Saranac, and Cecil 
Kellogg of Ionia; two-half sisters; Mrs.Grace Pierce of Ionia and Mrs.Clara 
Osborne of Saranac.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Myer-Roetman Funeral Home with the 
Rev.Nolan Williams officiating.

Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home this afternoon 
and evening.
