Gilbert E. “Gil” Borup went to be with his Lord on Feb. 27, 2011 at Spectrum 
Blodgett. He was born Oct. 30, 1932 to Frank and Reva (Covert) Borup in Easton 
Twp.

His parents preceded him in death.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 52 years, Verdena; and by their 
children, Brenda and Ron Karsies of Grand Rapids, Douglas and Dawn Borup of 
Lowell, and Derrick (Rick) and Lori Borup of Saranac; his nine grandchildren, 
Kelli and Jordan Karises, Brook, Amber and Matt Borup, Kristen, Emily, Andrea 
and Bethany Borup; great granddaughter Madison Mae; brother Fran and Jackie 
Borup of Saranac; many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Saranac 
Community Church with visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Lake 
Funeral Home, Saranac.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made Boston-Saranac Fire Department of 
Boston-Saranac Historical Society. Online condolences may be made at
