BORUP
Verdena Pearl Borup (Pintler) went to be home with her Lord and Savior on May 9, 
2021 at the age of 88.

Verdena is survived by her sisters Vivian Hey and Sharlene Hopp, her children 
Brenda (Ron) Karsies, Doug (Dawn) Borup, and Derrick (Lori) Borup, 9 
grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by husband of 52 years, Gilbert Borup, parents Lyle 
Pintler a& Berneice (Thompson) Pintler, siblings Shirley Hopp and Dale Pintler.

Verdena was born on March 14, 1933 in Entrican, MI. She graduated from Lakeview 
High School, attended 2 years of bible school while working for Bell Telephone 
in both Ionia and Grand Rapids. After marrying Gilbert they resided in Saranac, 
MI as their family grew into what it is today.

Verdena dedicated her life to her family and church participating in the 
children's ministry as a Sunday school teacher and Awana leader. She was a 
lifetime member of the Boston Saranac Historical Society. She spent her life 
assisting her husband in their printing business, driving school bus, as well as 
acting as township treasurer. A visitation was hosted at Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia from 5-8pm on May 12th at 1 hour (10 a.m) visitation preceded the 11 a. 
funeral Thursday, May 13h at Galilee Baptist Church, with a reception following.  
Tim Anderson officiated the ceremony. All were welcome to attend and celebrate 
Verdena's life. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Boston-Saranac 
Historical Society or Spectrum Hospice. Online condolences may be made at
