BOS PALM DESERT, CA - John A. Bos, 87, of Palm Desert, California, passed away on June 11, 1021 at his home with his family at his bedside He was born in Holland, Michigan on November 6, 1933 and graduated from Holland Christian High School Class of 1951, attended Hope College and finished his Bachelor's Degree at the University of California, Long Beach and achieved his Business Accounting Management degree a the University of California, Los Angeles. John and family relocated to Southern California in 1962. He retired from McDonnell Douglas/Boeing in 2000 as Director of finance for the C17 Program after 38 years of employment. During his tenure at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing he held the responsibly as Finance Director for several commercial airline programs including the DC10 Program, DC9 Program, and the C17 Program. During his final year at Boeing, John had a key role in the Boeing Management team to achieve the prestigious Malcom Baldridge Award for the C17 Program. More importantly, John understood his financial skills were a gift from God for service in ministry. For 33 years John was the Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of the Reformed Church of America Classis of California. During that tenure, in the late 70's, John was responsible to co-lead, along with the late Rev. Dr. Chester J.Droog, the financial turn-around of the California Classis to a position of Financial stability. Further, John served on Consistory, taught Sunday School, and led Adult Ministry Classes at Bethel Reformed Church, Bellflower, California and at the Crystal Cathedral Garden Grove, California. John is proceeded in death by his wife Eileen Bos, parents, John A. Bos and Annabelle Bos, brother Charles Bos, Sister Barbara Bos Lambert. John is survived by his children John A Bos (Edie), James G. Bos (Karen), and Tiffany Ann Murphy Bos, Step-son William C.Halczyn (Alysha), brother Howard Bos (Marilyn), sister Julie Bos Charlton (Bill), his wife of first marriage, Dolores Jean Visch Bos, grandchildren Bryon Bos (Darci), Steven Bos (Christina), Jonathan Bos (Emily), Kelsey Bos Reinhart (Joshua),Emily Bos Krug(Karl), Connor Bos (Lauren), Brady Murphy, Keegan Murphy,Zoe Halczyn, Emerson Halczyn, Great-grandchildren Madison,Audra, Jack, Anne, Alice, Lily, Liam, Fenna, June, Walter, Maverick, nd Great-great-Grandchild Adalynn. A Celebration of Life Ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Arboretum at Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. Interment followed in the Christ Cathedral Memorial Gardens, Visitation preceded the Celebration of Life ceremony. Memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association or to Corona Friends Church in Corona, California.
