Bowen of Keene, who dropped dead of heart attack Tuesday afternoon as he was helping his son get the corn pickers ready for the afternoons work, were held Friday, November 23, at the Lowell Congregational church with the Rev. N. G. Wood officiating. Members of the Lowell Masonic Lodge acted as pallbearers and had charge of the service at the grave. He was born November 14, 1882 in Missouri and at the age of three he moved to Michigan, and has spent the rest of the years in Keene and Easton Townships. He is survived by his wife, five children, Mrs. William Hitchcock of Easton Township, Emory of Easton, Fred at home, Mrs. Carl Cordtz of Lansing, and Mrs. Lyle Baker of Ionia; eleven grandchildren; his sister, Mrs. Ione Winzel of Baton Rouge, La., and his stepmother, Mrs. Minnie Bowen of Blanchard. Attending from away were Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Shear and daughter, Mrs. Vivian Collins, of Battle Creek; John Staskus of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Kenneth Sinclair of Cascade and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Zahm of Lansing.
