Ionia Sentinel Standard – 11 May 1967
Lora R. Bowen, 86, died Thursday morning at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  
Born October 22, 1880 in Keene Township, she lived most of her life in the 
Saranac area.  As a registered trained attendant she worked seven years in an 
Allegan hospital and during World War I, cared for many persons in the Saranac 
area in their homes.  She was a member of Saranac Community church, life 
member of the Eastern Star, member of Rebekah lodge, Saranac American Legion 
auxiliary and DAR in Ionia.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Augusta White of Saranac; two brothers, 
Gale Bowen and Fred C. Bowen, Sr., both of Saranac.  Funeral services will be 
Saturday at 2:30 pm at Morris-Roetman funeral home in Saranac with burial in 
Pinkney cemetery.
