She was born, the daughter of James and Adell Violet Ketchum, on November 18, 1913, in Lake Odessa. She was employed for 30 years at General Motors, retiring in 1973. She is survived by two sons, Richard J. Ackerson of Lansing and Rodger L. Ackerson of Lake Odessa; daughter Karen S. Pease of Lansing; stepson Richard L. Bowen of Ionia; stepdaughter Judy M. Morris of Lansing; 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three brothers, Herbert Ketchum of Florida, Keith Ketchum of Battle Creek, and Harold Ketchum of Calif.; and two sisters, Betty Casillas of Grand Ledge and Dorothy Mears of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester in December of 1979 and three brothers. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Myers Memorial Chapel, Ionia, with the Rev. Robert Nixon officiating. The organist will be Renate Conrad. Pallbearers will be Earl Pease Jr., Edward Pease, Robert Dietz, Mark, Scott, and Lee Ackerson. Honorary pallbearer will be Brian Ackerson. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery. The family will be at the Main Street Chapel ;on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A memorial has been established for the Ionia County Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
