Bowen, 85, of rural Belding passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. He was born on September 15, 1917 in Saranac, the son of Howard and Sable Pinkney Bowen. Everett was a lifelong farmer, member of St. Mary Catholic Church, former member of the Michigan Farm Bureau and served on the Board of Education at the old Marble School. He was married on November 23, 1937 in Mildred Rittersdorf and she survives along with their children, Ruth and Sam Lombardo of Saranac, Leo and LeeAnn Bowen of Saranac, Roger and Jill Bowen of Lowell, Ernest and Robin Bowen of Lowell, Keith Bowen of Belding and Betty and Tim White of Gowen. Everett is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, his brother and sisters, Emery and Gladys Bowen of Saranac, Donald and Joan Bowen of Plainwell, Elsie Moore of Saranac, Doris and Bob Harding of Kalamazoo, and brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Shirley Swiger of Lowell. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters and their spouses, Eula and Ed Sullivan, Winona and Manley Nummer, his sister Bernice Swiger, and a brother-in-law, Bruce Moore. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday (please meet at the church) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Belding with Father Troy A. Nevins as celebrant. Interment in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary prayed at 8:30 p.m. at Johnson- Feuerstein Funeral Home in Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church or St. Joseph Catholic School.
