Ionia Sentinel - Standard
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Bowen, 87, died Saturday evening at the Belding Christian 
nursing home.  She was born in Switzerland November 15, 1888 the daughter of 
Fred and Eliza Urch Gyger.  She lived most of her life in Saranac but moved to 
Edmore in 1945.  She married her husband, Elmer, July 2, 1902 in Lowell.  He 
preceded her in death in 1962.

Surviving are two sons, Lloyd Bowen of Indiana and Lester Bowen of South Ionia; 
one daughter, Mabel Topp of Holt; four sisters; Freda Welch of Florida, Ruth 
Geraldson of Big Rapids, Olga Beach of Edmore, and Lillian Cross of Florida; 11 
grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were Tuesday at 2:30 pm at the Roetman funeral home in Saranac. Rev 
Byron Davies officiated and burial was at Saranac cemetery.
