Jeffrey J.Bowen, a master masonry worker whose craftsmanship graced the landscapes of Woodland,MI and beyond, passed away on Monday, Dec. 25, 2023, at the age of 63. Born on January 18, 1960, to James and Celia (Kidder) Bowen, Jeff Leaves behind a legacy of skill, kindness and profound generosity. Jeff's hands were the instruments of his artistry and his impact on the surrounding communities is evident in the beautiful brick and stone work he created, such as the Jordan Lake Trail. His exceptional talent went beyond the mortar, it was a testament to his dedication and passion for his craft. Jeff's work is a living tribute to hi commitment to excellence. One of his most admirable qualities was his benevolence; he had a heart as sturdy a the structure he built, often offering his skills without charge only asking for reimbursement for materials when his customers had financial constraints. Although Jeff possessed an unparalleled work ethic, one of his greatest passions was music, He had a beautiful singing voice and could play guitar just as great s one of his favorite artists,Joe Satriani. In high school, Jeff played the drums, but at age 17 he started playing guitar and found that he had a natural talent that led him to become the lead singer and guitarist for many years. Along with his masonry skills, he also passed along his musical talents to his three youngest sons, Jeffrey, Jeremy, and Adrian; many night were spent jamming with the boys, and they will continue to serve the community with Bowen masonry. Beyond his professional and musical achievements,Jeff loved spending time with his family. You could always find him playing with one of the grandchildren, strumming a guitar, or showing off pictures of his recent work; rarely without a Pepsi in hand. His loved ones will forever cherish the memories and warmth which he embraced in his role as a devoter Husband, Father,Uncle, and Grandfather. Jeff's love for his family was immeasurable, and his presence will be deeply missed.May his memory continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him, and may his spirit live on in the enduring beauty of his handcrafted works and the hearts of those he touched.
