Lawrence J. Bower, 83, of Portland died Sept. 2, 1993, in Portland.  Mr. Bower 
was born in Clinton County on Sept. 20, 1909, the son of George and Agnes 
(Fitzpatrick) Bower.  He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the 
Portland Knights of Columbus, and a World War II veteran.

Surviving are two brothers, John (Dorothy) Bower of Grand Ledge and Louis 
(Katherine) Bower of Portland; and sister, Lucille Bower of Portland.

The Rosary was recited Sept. 5 and 6 at Gorsline-Runciman Neller Chapel in 
Portland.  Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 7 at St. 
Patrick’s Catholic Church in Portland, with Rev. Julian Reginato officiating.  
Interment followed at Portland Cemetery.  Casket bearers were James Bower, 
Dale Bower, David Bower, Jack Bower, Jerry Bower, and Robert Bower.
