The Ionia County News, Friday, July 8, 1927

News of the death of two young members of the Ferdinand Bower family, taking 
place within a few hours of each other, greatly saddened the residents of 
Pewamo.  The two babies of 7 weeks and 5 years were taken sick at nearly the 
same time and their death occurred just a few hours apart.

Rose Ellen, the younger babe, was born May 12, 1927 and died July 4, 1927, her 
death resulting from a complication of diseases.  

Germaine, was born November 4, 1921 and died July 5, 1927.  The child had been 
rather frail for a long time and a few days before her death she had a slight 
accident which apparently hastened her death.

The parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Bower, a sister, Barie and a brother, 
Anthony are the surviving members of the family.

A double funeral was held at the St. Joseph church at 9:00 o’clock Thursday 
morning, Rev. Fr. Wm. Flannigan of Hubbardston officiating.
