Tello J. Bower Passes Away

Tello J. Bower, 74, Route 3, Big Rapids, passed away early last Wednesday
morning at Community Hospital.  He was born July 24, 1895, near Lake Odessa, the
son of John and Rachel Bower.  Oct. 15, 1913, he married Amanda Vietzke at
Kalamazoo.  He went to Big Rapids from Kalamazoo in 1926 and owned the Bowers
Restaurant for 35 years, retiring nine years ago.

Mr. Bower was a member of the Hatfield Church of Christ, a life member of Elks
Lodge No. 974, Masonic Lodge, F&AM, No. 174, of Flint and was a member of the
Farm Bureau.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 10, at the Rogers Funeral Home.  Mike
Steere officiated, with burial in Highland View Cemetery.  Survivors of Mr.
Bowers are his wife and a sister, Mrs. Emma Griebel of Belding.
