He was born April 4, 1943 the son of Everett and Mildred (Rittersdorf) Bowen. Leo married Lee Ann Millard December 4, 1970 she preceded him in death on May 5, 2017. He had his own milk route for several years and then went to work as a bus mechanic for Lowell Public School. Leo was a member of St.Anthony's Catholic Church. He enjoyed going dancing with Lee Ann, following the sea Cruisers and and restoring John Deere Tractors. Leo especially enjoyed attending sporting events and FFA events for his children and grandchildren. Surviving Leo are his Children; Becky (Brent) Edwards of Saranac, Mandy (Ron) Mutschler of Saranac, Bobbi (Doug) Thelen of Lowell, Ben(Becky) Bowen of Ionia and Jessica (Clayton) Dewey of Portland, Grandchildren; Drake, Elissa, Tyler, Cole, Emily, Tanner, Parker, Tori, Kaleb and Wyatt. Siblings; Ruth (Sam)Lombardo of Saranac, Roger (Jill) Bowen of Lowell, Ernie (Robin) Bowen of Gratten, Keith Bowen fo Belding, and Betty White of Sheridan. David and Dawn and their families and Brian Krajewski and family and several nieces and nephews. Special friendsJoy and Harvey Noon, Nancy and Steve Solomon, Leslie and Todd Molag. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Lee Ann. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St.Anthony's Catholic Church in Saranac Thursday November 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Saranac Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Ionia County Relay for Life, Saranac Athletic Boosters or Saranac FFA.
