Ionia Sentinel, Saturday, June 7, 1975

John J. Bowerman, 62, known as Jack, of 1059 East Riverside drive, died Friday 
morning at Ionia County Memorial hospital shortly after admission.  Death was 
due to an apparent heart attack.

He was born in Ionia County May 19, 1913, the son of Clinton and Margaret 
Kenney Bowerman.  He attended the Badder school and SS Peter and Paul academy.

October 1, 1934, he was married to Carmen Poggi at the SS Peter and Paul church.

He had been employed by the Ionia County Road Commission more than 40 years and 
held the position of a grade foreman at the time of his death.

Surviving are the wife, Carmen, six sons, Jack, Dale, Robert, Gary, Peter and 
Paul, all of Ionia; daughter Mrs. Mable Ann Erridge of Ionia; 15 grandchildren; 
and a brother Dan Bowerman of Grand Haven.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Leddick funeral home.  Rev. 
Paul Jetter of Ionia Church of the Nazarene will officiate and interment will 
be at Highland Park.

The family will be at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday 2 
to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
