JACK C. BOWERMAN
Jack C. Bowerman, 75 of Ionia, passed away Feb. 1, 2016 in Ionia. He was born March
8, 1940 in Ionia, the son of John "Jack" and Carmen (Poggi) Bowerman.

Jack served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Ionia Moose Lodge for over 50 
years. He was a heavy equipment operator and was always willing to help anyone. He 
enjoyed dirt track racing and owned several race cars. He volunteered his skills and
equipment at the Ionia Free Fair for many years. He also enjoyed playing pool,
dancing and spending time with family and friends.

Jack is survived by his children; Carmen (Tom) Schafer, Brian (Sue) Bowerman, Diane
(Gary) Ferguson, Julie Bowerman, Brent (Shannon) Bowerman of Stanton, and Kerinne 
(Dan) Strachan of Muir; brothers, Dale Bowerman, Bob (Terry) Bowerman, Gary (Kathy)
Bowerman, Pete (Janet) Bowerman, and Paul Bowerman; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mableann.

A celebration of life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Feb. 6 at Zion
Methodist Church with Pastor cliff Allen officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-7
p.m at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Zion
