Leslie C. Bowerman, Sr., 64, of 2901 Vedder Road, Lake Odessa died Wednesday
evening from injuries sustained in an auto accident.  He was born August 19,
1914 in Lake Odessa, the son of Ralph and Edna Carpenter Bowerman.

Bowerman married Marjorie Tyler June 21, 1938 in Lansing.  On March 7, 1971 he
married Genevieve Archer Hummell.  He was a lifelong resident of Lake Odessa and
was a self employed well driller.  He was a member of Moose Lodge 624 of
Hastings and Eagles Lodge of Woodland.

Survivors include his wife, Genevieve; mother, Mrs. Edna Bowerman of Hastings;
four sons and four daughters: Ralph Bowerman, Leslie Bowerman, Jr., James
Bowerman, Mrs. John (Janette) Eastman, all of Lake Odessa; Joseph Bowerman,
Portland; Mrs. James (Janice) Hill, Midwest City, Okla.; Mrs. Gary (Lynda)
Ferguson, Montclair, Ca., Mrs. Mervin (Geraldine) Nichols, Hastings; two
step-children; Mrs. Kenneth (Beverly) Coleman, Freeport; Raymond Hummell,
Saranac; 20 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; one brother, Richard
Bowerman of Sunfield; three sisters, Mrs. Herbert (Lillian) Buxton, Mrs. Bill
(Marie) Haskins, Mrs. Raymond (Lucille) Piper, all of Lake Odessa.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Pickens-Koops Funeral
Chapel, Lake Odessa.  Rev. Bill Stevens will be officiating.  Burial will be in
the Lakeside cemetery.
