Mableann Bowerman, 48, of Ionia died Wednesday at Ionia County Memorial
Hospital.  She was born Dec. 11, 1938, in Ishpeming, the daughter of John and
Carmen Poggi Bowerman, and was graduated from Ionia High School.  She was
employed at American Auto Felt in Lyons, Mode-O-Day store in Ionia, and worked
as a bartender in the Ionia area for several years.

Surviving are her fiance, Steve McBride of Ionia; a son, Mark Syrjala of Ionia;
two daughters, Cary Mason of Florida and Chari Aikens of Ionia; two
grandchildren; her mother, Carmen Bowerman of Ionia; six brothers, Jack, Dale,
Robert, Gary, Peter and Paul Bowerman, all of Ionia; and several nieces and
nephews.  She was preceded in death by her son John, her daughter Melissa; and
her father, John Bowerman.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday from the Rich Street Chapel of
Montgomery Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.  The family
will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.  Rosary
will be offered Friday at 7:30 p.m.  A memorial has been established for the
family, in care of the funeral home.
